The consultation about the law project on Special administrative – economic units

On 08 November 2017, the Law Committee of the National Assembly celebrated the consultation about the law project on special administrative – economic units at Dien Hong meeting room, the House of Parliament. It is presided by the Chairman of the Law Committee- Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh; Minister of Planning and Investment- Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung and Minister of Home Affairs- Mr. Le Vinh Tan. The objective of the consultation is to provide more information, exchange, more clarify some important contents in order to serve the discussion at Team and at the Meeting-hall about the law project, as well as letting localities to present more clearly about the Project of establishing special administrative – economic units.

Coming to the consultation, there are Politburo Member, Secretariat Member of Party Central Committee, Commission of Organization’s Chairman- Pham Minh Chinh, leaders of National Assembly Office, Standing Committees of National Assembly, the Heads – deputies of parliament’s delegation of 63 provinces and cities in the whole country and leaders’ representatives of 03 Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Kien Giang provinces.

The consultation about the law project on Special administrative – economic units

At the consultation, deputies listened to Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Home Affairs Le Vinh Tan who presented about the process of constructing the law project on Special administrative – economic units and 3 projects of establishing 3 provinces’ Special administrative – economic units. Many deputies agreed with the construction of this law project because there was sufficient political, practical and legal basic; also reckoned that special administrative – economic units had been mentioned for a long time in Party’s documents, therefore, this law was needed to construct promptly in order to catch up opportunities of attracting the world’s investment flows.

Furthermore, deputies also wondered about the law project’s content and suggested that the Government should present more clearly the administrative and economic specialties of this new model in order to help parliamentarians understand more accurately. After that, leaders of Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Kien Giang provinces also provided more information about localities’ preparation with the construction of special administrative – economic units; and proposed the National Assembly to pass the law project soon so that localities had reason to implement the next steps.

The law project on Special administrative – economic units is being discussed by the National Assembly at 04th Session and will expectedly be considered and passed at 05th Session, the fourteenth National Assembly.
