Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) surveys Van Phong Economic Zone

On the afternoon of June 7, 2025, Mr. Tran Hai Linh – Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front – Chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) – led a delegation of over 30 VKBIA members on a field survey at the Nam Van Phong area.

At the survey site of the South Van Phong International Port, Mr. Le Hong Phuong, Deputy Head of the Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board, provided an overview of the zone's potential, advantages, and development direction. Accordingly, the Van Phong Economic Zone is a comprehensive, multi-sector economic zone playing a leading role in attracting investment and serving as a driving force for economic development in neighboring regions and the entire country. Port and logistics, industry, tourism, and industry are identified as key sectors to be integrated with other economic sectors. Additionally, the economic zone serves as a high-end integrated tourism and entertainment service hub, offering unique, distinctive tourism products and services with international brand recognition and competitive edge.

The Southern Van Phong area comprises six sub-zones located within Ninh Hoa Town and is planned for development as an industrial center integrated with deep-sea port infrastructure. This will be accompanied by new urban development projects and coastal tourism services. Currently, Khanh Hoa Province has identified a range of strategic investment projects aligned with Resolution No. 55/2022/QH15 of the National Assembly, including deep-sea ports, an airport, and new urban areas.

With its strategic geographic location, comprehensive transportation infrastructure, deep-water seaports, and attractive investment incentives, Van Phong Economic Zone is positioned as an ideal destination for both domestic and international investors.

The delegation continued its field visit to the ship repair and new-build yard and steel structure fabrication project of HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., where they listened to a company presentation on the project’s objectives, scale, history, development progress to date, and future directions.

Following that, the field survey team visited the ship repair, new shipbuilding, and steel structure fabrication project of HD Hyundai Shipbuilding Vietnam Co., Ltd., where they were briefed on the project's objectives, scale, development history, and future plans.
